What Dani Pets is#
Dani Pets is a website that gives independent pet sitters a place to run their own business: a public page, their rates, their hours, bookings and visit updates. Pet parents use it to book a sitter and see updates. It is run by Fifth Current(“we”, “us”).
Dani Pets is not a pet care provider, an agency or an employer. We do not walk, sit, board or watch pets. The sitters are independent businesses. Each one is responsible for their own services, licenses, insurance and the risks of handling animals.
By using Dani Pets you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
Accounts#
- You must be at least 18 to have an account.
- Give true information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password private. What happens under your account is your responsibility.
- A reply to a Dani Pets email, sent from the email address on your account, is posted as a message from you. Keep that inbox private too.
- Tell us right away if someone uses your account without you.
- One person, one account.
If you are a pet parent#
- Give accurate details about your pets: name, breed, size, age and anything else your sitter should know.
- Tell your sitter about any health problem, medication need, fear, bite history or behavior issue before a visit. If your pet can be aggressive or reactive, say so. Hiding it puts people and other animals at risk.
- Make sure your pet’s vaccines and any local license are up to date.
- Give your sitter safe, legal access to your home and your pet, and tell them about hazards.
- A booking request is not a confirmed booking until your sitter confirms it.
- You are responsible for decisions about your pet’s care, including emergency vet care and its cost.
If you are a sitter#
- Anyone with an account can become a sitter. We do not review or approve sitters, and your page goes live as soon as you set it up. We can pause a sitter’s page if it breaks these terms.
- You run your own business. You set your own prices, hours and rules, and you choose which jobs to take.
- You are responsible for following the law where you work, including business licenses, permits, taxes and any rules for boarding or daycare.
- You are responsible for your own insurance and for any harm that happens during your work.
- Do what you say you will do. Show up, treat pets kindly and keep your clients informed.
- Use parents’ contact details, addresses and pet information only to do the job you were booked for. Keep them private.
- Do not post photos of a client’s pet or home outside Dani Pets unless the client says it is fine.
- Describe yourself and your services honestly on your public page.
- You are not our employee. You are not our agent, and you cannot speak for us.
Bookings and payments#
A booking is an agreement between the parent and the sitter. Dani Pets is not a party to it.
Dani Pets does not process payments or hold money. The sitter sets the price, and the parent pays the sitter directly, for example by Venmo or Zelle. Those services have their own terms. We do not handle refunds, chargebacks or disputes about money. If you need a refund or a change, ask the sitter.
A repeating schedule works the same way. The sitter approves it and sets the price per visit, and the two of you agree whether it’s billed weekly or monthly, and paid after or ahead. Dani Pets adds up each period and shows the total; the money still goes straight from the parent to the sitter. Anything paid ahead for a visit that was skipped is between the two of you.
Cancellations, changes and no-shows are between you and the sitter. Agree on them before a visit.
Text messages#
Texts are optional. If you turn them on:
- Texts come from Dani Pets, on behalf of the sitter or pet parent you're booked with. They're only about your bookings and messages: a request, a confirmation, a change or cancellation, a visit starting, photos or a report card, a payment, or a new message.
- You only get texts after you add a US or Canadian mobile number, agree to texts and confirm the number with a code we text you. You can turn texts off in your notification settings at any time.
- How many texts you get depends on your bookings and messages. If you set quiet hours, texts wait until they end.
- Msg & data rates may apply. Your carrier, not Dani Pets, charges for them.
- Reply STOP to any text to stop them. Reply HELP for help, or write to us at the address below. After STOP, texts stay off until you confirm your number again.
- You can answer a text by replying to it. Your reply is posted as a message from you, marked as sent by text, in the conversation that text was about, where the other person sees it like any message. It isn't posted if that conversation is closed, if we haven't texted you about it in the last 14 days, or if you got texts about conversations with two different people in the last day, since we can't tell which one you mean. You can always answer in the app. Your number still isn't shown.
- Your number is never shown to the other person, and it isn't shared with anyone for marketing.
- Carriers aren't liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
For help with texts, reply HELP or write to privacy@wedostuff.com.
Acceptable use#
Do not:
- break the law, or use Dani Pets to help someone else break it,
- harass, threaten or deceive anyone,
- pretend to be another person, or use another person’s account,
- try to get into data or accounts that are not yours, or to disrupt the service,
- scrape, copy or resell other people’s information,
- upload anything harmful, such as malware,
- use the service to neglect or abuse an animal.
Content you upload#
You keep ownership of what you add: pet details, notes, photos, your bio and your reports. You give us permission to store it, show it to the people who are meant to see it, and use it to run Dani Pets. For a sitter’s public page, that includes showing it to anyone with the link.
You promise that you have the right to upload it, that it is not unlawful, and that it does not invade anyone’s privacy. Only upload photos you took or have permission to use, and do not include people who have not agreed to it. We can remove content that breaks these terms.
The Dani Pets name, logo and artwork belong to us or the people who made them. These terms do not give you rights to them.
Ending your account#
You can stop using Dani Pets any time. To close your account and delete your information, email privacy@wedostuff.com.
We can suspend or close an account if someone breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or if we have to stop running the service. Where we can, we will tell you why. Sections that should survive, like disclaimers, limits on liability and the rules about disputes, do.
Disclaimers#
Dani Pets is provided “as is” and “as available”, without promises of any kind, express or implied. We do not promise it will always work, be error free or be secure.
We do not run background checks on sitters. We do not check their licenses, training, experience, references or insurance. A sitter may not be insured, bonded or background-checked. Please decide for yourself whether a sitter is right for you and your pet, and ask them directly about anything that matters to you.
We do not supervise visits and we do not guarantee the quality, safety or timing of any sitter’s work. Animals can get hurt, sick, lost or cause harm, even with a careful sitter. Those risks are part of pet care. Information on Dani Pets, including visit reports, is not veterinary advice.
Limit on our liability#
To the most the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits or data, that come from using Dani Pets or from anything a sitter or parent does or does not do. We are not liable for injury to or loss of a pet, damage to property, or any dispute between a parent and a sitter.
To the most the law allows, our total liability to you for anything related to Dani Pets is limited to $100.
Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
You cover us for your own actions#
If your use of Dani Pets, your content, or your breaking of these terms or the law leads to a claim against us, you agree to defend us and pay the costs, including reasonable legal fees. This includes claims from another parent, a sitter or a third party about your pet, your home or your work.
Changes to these terms#
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and for a big change we will tell you in the app or by email. If you keep using Dani Pets after a change, you accept the new terms.
Governing law#
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Colorado, and you agree to their authority.
